While you may laugh at the latter, consider the fact that there are those who put in three times as many hours into their home based business than they did when they were working at corporate. • 97% had not written them down or had none at all!

It is always good to be reminded that we are the only thing that stands between us and achievable success .Setting goals and jotting down daily victories and accomplishments will help to alleviate obsession with your home based business. Clarity and purpose in our life will truly be enhanced by disciplining ourselves in taking a few minutes every day to reflect and journal our accomplishments and writing them down. Even if one particular home based business or business opportunity is not taken to excess, the investment in any number of them at the same time or concurrently, or the constant involvement in the latest multi level marketing fads and Internet get rich quick schemes is a warning sign that you are not being a business persona but instead obsessed with making money on or offline.

This means you need to have a clear plan on where you want your business to be in five years. How much do you want to be making in a year? How much time do you have to invest in your business? These are all questions that should be asked of yourself and answered honestly.
Very often people have the assumption that a home based business is easier to run and that you can make a lot of money with very little effort. It is very rare to find a business that is going to make you money with out you putting work into the job even if you adhere to the slogan: work smart not hard. An Excellent Home Business is one that you are starting yourself. Some of those businesses that are advertised in newspapers, magazines or on the Internet are not legitimate. In order for your business to be all that you want it to be, you need to consider how is the best way for you to do that. Talents are what you do best. Skills are the things that you can do. Talents are passive and skills are active. You are born with talents but you develop skills over the years. Talents combined with skills can go along way to making a very successful business. It might be helpful to list both when considering what home business would work for you.
Not all businesses work well as home based businesses and some won’t work at all. You might want to make a list of home based businesses. Once you have done that, go back through and mark off all the ones you don’t want to do. After that, see which ones would closely match your talents and skills. This exercise should give you a general idea which way you might want to go. It doesn’t matter how talented you are or how skillful, if no one is willing to pay for your product or service, there can be no business. You need to ask yourself how much people would be willing to pay for your product or service. Once you have figured that amount out you need to evaluate if you can live on that amount of money. It is very important to consider the profitability of any home based business. It is up to you to decide if you will make enough profit or income to be satisfied.
Business plans will help you assess the viability of your home base business opportunity. The primary reason for a business plan is to lay out your ideas for your business, to see if it can succeed. As you work through your business plan the research you do will either validate or stop your business plans. If the business plan shows you that your business ideas won’t work, put them aside and select another business opportunity. You may find you will have to do this more than once. Many people look at the same business ideas. There are more construction companies, painters and consultants than you can imagine. They don’t have to be your own. This job allows someone’s life to be created for others to read and enjoy.
